Über mich: Ein Leben im Sucher – Zwischen Hollywood und High-Tech
„Für Filmemacher gibt es kein Rentenalter.“ Dieses Zitat von Wim Wenders ist für mich kein bloßer Satz, sondern ein Lebensmotto. Seit nunmehr 60 Jahren blicke ich durch das Okular von Kameras, um die Welt in Szene zu setzen – und die Faszination ist heute noch genau so groß wie am ersten Tag.
Eine lebenslange Leidenschaft: Vom ersten Take zum digitalen Schnitt
Meine Reise begann bereits im Alter von zehn Jahren. Während andere spielten, entdeckte ich die Welt durch die Linse. Mit Anfang 20 vertiefte ich diese Leidenschaft und begann, meine Filme selbst zu schneiden – damals noch ganz klassisch und händisch. Als die digitale Revolution die Welt veränderte, war ich an vorderster Front dabei: Ich digitalisierte mein gesamtes Material und editierte meine Werke an meinem allerersten PC. Diese Symbiose aus analogem Auge und digitalem Verstand prägt meine Arbeit bis heute.
Das Handwerk: Von Panavision bis Pixel
Meine Leidenschaft für das Geschichtenerzählen führte mich 2003 und 2004 an die New York Film Academy im Herzen von Hollywood. Dort durfte ich mein Handwerk an den legendären Instrumenten der Filmgeschichte vertiefen – von der Arriflex 16mm bis zur Panavision Gold 35mm. Ich habe das Filmemachen noch auf echtem Celluloid gelernt, bevor die digitale Welt zum Standard wurde. Diese Ausbildung, die Regie, Kamera, Schauspiel, Schnitt und Produktion umfasste, bildet das Fundament meines Schaffens.
- Charme statt Perfektion: Ich verfilme meine sechs Science-Fiction-Romane bewusst mit dem optischen Charme von Trickfiguren. Ich möchte keine fotorealistischen Klone, sondern Charaktere mit Charakter.
- Menschlichkeit vor KI: Ich nutze KI-Tools für Stimmen und Sprachen, bleibe aber überzeugt: Das Spiel echter Menschen ist unersetzlich.
Über 45 Jahre IT-Expertise: Der Code hinter der Kunst
Parallel zu meiner filmischen Laufbahn blicke ich auf über 45 Jahre Erfahrung in der IT-Branche zurück. Als erfahrener IT-Fachmann ist Technik für mich kein Hindernis, sondern ein Werkzeugkasten, den ich heute – mit 70 Jahren – so kreativ und souverän nutze wie nie zuvor. Die Künstliche Intelligenz ist dabei mein neuestes Steckenpferd, das mir hilft, meine Visionen effizient umzusetzen.

Seit über 15 Jahren konzentriere ich mich auf die Produktion von Animationsfilmen mittels Reallusion. Dabei verfolge ich eine ganz bewusste Ästhetik.
Der Weg zum Spielfilm
Aktuell arbeite ich an der filmischen Umsetzung meines ersten Science-Fiction-Buchs. Jede Szene von etwa 60 Sekunden erfordert zwei bis drei Tage intensiver Arbeit an Avataren, Dialogen und Effekten. Doch in dieser Detailarbeit liegt für mich das größte Glück. Ich jage keinen Hollywood-Budgets mehr hinterher. Mein Ziel ist es, meine Geschichten unabhängig und mit der Erfahrung eines ganzen Lebens zu erzählen. Ich lade Sie ein, mich auf dieser Reise zu begleiten. For 60 years, I have looked through the eye of a camera to bring stories to life—and the fascination remains as profound today as it was on my very first day.
Parallel to my cinematic career, I can look back on over 45 years in the IT industry. As a seasoned IT professional, I don’t see technology as an obstacle, but as a toolkit. Today—at the age of 70—I use these tools with more creativity and confidence than ever before. Artificial Intelligence is my latest endeavour, helping me to bring my visions to life with newfound efficiency.
- Charm over Perfection: I am adapting my six science-fiction novels into films with the visual charm of classic animation. I am not looking for photorealistic clones; I want characters with true character.
- Humanity before AI: While I use AI tools for voices and languages, I remain steadfast in my conviction: the performance of real human actors can never be replaced.
I am currently working on the cinematic adaptation of my first science-fiction book. Every 60-second scene requires two to three days of intensive work on avatars, dialogue, and effects. Yet, it is in this meticulous detail that I find my greatest joy.
A Lifelong Passion: From the First Take to Digital Editing
My journey began at the age of ten. While other children were playing, I was discovering the world through a lens. In my early twenties, I deepened this passion by learning to cut and splice my films manually. When the digital revolution transformed the world, I was at the forefront: I digitised my entire archive and began editing my works on my very first PC. This symbiosis of an "analogue eye" and a "digital mind" continues to define my work to this day.
The Craft: From Panavision to Pixels
My passion for storytelling took me to the New York Film Academy in the heart of Hollywood in 2003 and 2004. There, I had the privilege of refining my craft using the legendary instruments of cinema history—from the Arriflex 16mm to the Panavision Gold 35mm. I learned filmmaking on real celluloid before the digital world became the industry standard. This training, which encompassed directing, cinematography, acting, editing, and production, forms the bedrock of my creative work.
